Equipment for the MKC Reserve includes 18-inch alloy wheels, premium perforated leather upholstery, a panoramic sunroof, ambient lighting, privacy glass, rear parking sensors, keyless ignition/entry, dual-zone automatic climate control, an eight-way power driver seat (with power lumbar), driver memory settings, heated front seats, power-folding side mirrors, a cargo cover, a hands-free power liftgate with a foot sensor, a power tilt-and-telescoping steering wheel, voice recognition, a navigation system, a premium 9-speaker stereo with satellite radio, a blind-spot warning system with rear cross-traffic alert and an embedded modem that enables remote communication with the vehicle via the MyLincoln Mobile smartphone app (including GPS location, remote start and status checks for fuel, tire pressures, etc.).

The optional 2.3-liter turbocharged four-cylinder churns out 285 hp and 305 lb-ft of torque. It comes only with AWD. Fuel economy is barely affected at 21 mpg combined (18 city/26 highway). In our testing, an all-wheel-drive MKC with a 2.3-liter engine accelerated from zero to 60 mph in a quick 7.2 seconds. When properly equipped with the Class II Trailer Tow Package, it can tow up to 3,000 pounds.

The 2015 Lincoln MKC comes standard with stability control, antilock disc brakes, a rearview camera, front-seat side airbags, a driver knee airbag and full-length side curtain airbags. Also standard is MyKey, which allows parents to set electronic parameters (such as maximum speed and radio volume) for when teenagers are behind the wheel. The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration gave the 2015 MKC an overall rating of four out of five stars, with four stars in frontal crash and rollover tests and five stars in side crash test.
