This 1964 Mercedes-Benz Unimog 404 is said to have been previously used by the German armed forces before being imported to the US in 2005 and acquired by me in 2010. Finished in gray over beige fabric upholstery, the truck has been modified as an expedition-style camper and is powered by a 2.2L inline-six paired with a six-speed manual transmission with two reverse gears, a dual-range transfer case, and portal axles. The camper cabin features a kitchenette with a fridge/freezer, storage cabinets, and a dining table and seating area that fold into a bed. Additional equipment includes a 250-watt solar system, dual 12-volt deep-cycle AGM batteries, a Sigtronics intercom system, 24-volt ComeUp front winch, electronic fuel pump and ignition system, a roof rack, flip-down DVD player, back-up camera, auxiliary lights, and rear pintle and receiver hitches. This Unimog camper is being offered with spare parts, two shop manuals, and a clean California title in the my name.

Asking $29,900 - cash only. Must be in-person. If ad is posted, this vehicle is still available.

The custom dining area features a collapsible table and custom black trimmed benches that can be folded into a sleeping area, as well as a flip-down DVD player and a Pioneer stereo. The electrical system includes a roof-mounted 250-watt solar panel, dual 12-volt AGM deep-cycle batteries, and dual 24-volt to 12-volt converters.

The cab and rear box were refinished in gray during current ownership. Equipment includes dual Front Runner Outfitters roof racks, a custom removable aluminum roof for the cab, custom aluminum side curtains for the front doors, a custom front bumper with a 2” receiver, front and rear auxiliary lights, a snorkel, rear pintle and receiver hitches, mud flaps, Hella H4 headlights with stone guards, and a ComeUp winch that can be mounted in the front or rear receiver hitches. Areas of rust and bubbling are present on the cab, box, front bumper, and windshield surround. The windshield is cracked, though the seller states that a replacement unit is included in the sale. The surfboard and jerrycans are included in the sale.

The 20” steel wheels are finished in gray and mounted with 275/80 Continental MPT 81 tires. A matching spare is housed under the driver’s side of the truck, and another is affixed to the rear of the box. A spare steel wheel and Koni shock absorbers are included in the sale.

The cab is finished in green and houses two individual seats trimmed in beige fabric. Features include a Sigtronics intercom system with three headsets, a screen wired to a back-up camera, Cobra 29 CB radio, fire extinguisher, green floor mats, and lap belts for both occupants. A sliding window provides access to the rear cabin.

A three-spoke steering wheel sits ahead of a 100-km/h speedometer, auxiliary displays, and a dash-mounted inclinometer. The five-digit odometer shows approximately 61k kilometers (~38k miles), around 23k of which have been added by the seller. Total mileage is unknown.

The rear box features a kitchenette with a two-burner propane-fueled cook top, an Engel fridge/freezer, storage cabinets, and black countertops.

The 2.2-liter M180 inline-six features an electronic fuel pump and ignition system and sends power to the rear or all four wheels through a manual gearbox with six forward ratios and two reverse gears. Portal axles with differential locks are also fitted. The seller reports that heat sink coolers for the transmission are installed, and the electrical system was refreshed around two years ago.

Additional underbody images are provided in the gallery, along with images of included spare parts.
